Homecoming Parade Marshal: Mrs. Sheryl Byom
The weather may have kept Mrs. Byom from taking her place at the front of the Homecoming Parade today, but there’s no question that G-E-T students still see her as someone who leads the charge.
The G-E-T High School Student Senate selected Mrs. Byom as this year’s Parade Marshal because of the selflessness she continually shows to our students and our school district.
Mrs. Byom has served G-E-T in several different roles over the years, and while students may know her today as the person who helps with sports paperwork, prints programs for the musical, steps in to lead groups like NHS when needed, helps manage summer school, or is simply a constant presence at G-E-T activities, there is something much bigger behind all of those things.
She shows up. She helps. She finds a way.
And through her actions, she makes it clear that she will do whatever it takes to support the students of G-E-T.
That kind of leadership doesn't always happen from the front of a parade. Sometimes it happens behind the scenes, in the office, at an activity, in the auditorium, or wherever students need someone to step up.
Mrs. Byom is a great example of what we mean when we say Learning for All, Learning for Life. She has spent her career putting students first, supporting the people around her, and showing that being part of a school community means being willing to step up wherever you are needed.
Thank you, Mrs. Byom, for all you give to our students, our activities, and our district. We are incredibly fortunate to have you as part of the G-E-T family!

What a great night for our G-E-T Marching Band!
With the change in the Homecoming date, our band had just five rehearsals to get ready for their field show performance. They put in the work and showed up ready to go!
Thank you to all of our marching band students for bringing energy, excitement, and a whole lot of school spirit to our Homecoming and G-E-T events. You make these nights exceptional and give our school a lot to be proud of.
This is a great example of Learning for All, Learning for Life. Our students learning, creating, performing, and stepping up for their school and community.

Due to today’s weather forecast, the Homecoming Parade scheduled for today is officially canceled.
However, our Homecoming celebration will move forward! The Tailgate Party is moving indoors and will take place as planned from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM inside the High School South Gym and PAC Lobby.
Indoor Tailgate Highlights
Activities & Games: Inflatables, Bags (Cornhole), and fun activities for all ages
Entertainment: Live DJ music
Food & Refreshments: Food options and concession items
Come stay dry, bring the family, and show your G-E-T school spirit as we gear up for game time!

It's a fantastic chance for kids to build social, motor, and communication skills through play—and a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect!

The G-E-T Community Clothing Closet will open for the school year this Wednesday, September 2nd from 9:00-11:00am. It will be open the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month throughout the school year. All families in the G-E-T School District have access to shop at the Clothing Closet free of charge!

What a way to wrap up the summer!
The G-E-T High School Band hit the streets for their 3rd parade of the summer at Ettrick Fun Days, and they were out in full force! The band and dance team brought plenty of energy, music, and G-E-T pride to the parade route.
One of the best parts of being a part of the G-E-T School District is the connection we have with our communities. Our mission is about developing students who contribute, connect, and make a difference, and opportunities like this are a great reminder that learning and growing doesn't just happen inside our school walls.
Thanks to the Ettrick community for letting us be part of the fun and for supporting our students! And to our band, dance team, director, and families...thanks for giving up some summer days to represent G-E-T so well!
