In the center, a hand holds a tablet displaying the text "Click & Connect: WHY STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO IPADS" alongside small icons of a book, lightbulb, rocket, group of people, and computer mouse. The bottom-right corner features the circular emblem for the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District with a red bird logo.

Why does every student in G-E-T have access to an iPad? The answer goes beyond putting a device in every student's hands. It reflects our commitment to helping every learner grow, excel, and thrive.

Watch the video below to learn more about the purpose behind our one-to-one program and how we approach technology as a tool for learning.

Learning for All

Every student learns differently. Some need additional support to access information, while others benefit from opportunities to explore a topic more deeply or demonstrate their learning in a different way.

An iPad provides tools that can help meet these varied needs. Accessibility features such as spoken content, dictation, and translation can help remove challenges to learning. Students can also use technology to practice skills, explore ideas, collaborate, and express their understanding in ways that work for them.

Providing every student with access to an iPad is one way we work toward more equitable learning opportunities. The goal isn't for every student to use technology in the same way, but for each student to have access to tools that support their learning.

Learning for Life

Technology is part of the world our students are growing up in. Preparing them for the future means helping them learn not only how to use technology, but also how to use it thoughtfully, creatively, and responsibly.

In our classrooms, the focus is on purposeful use. Students might use an iPad to research a topic, receive feedback, solve a problem, create something original, or share their learning with others. Teachers make instructional decisions based on the learning goal, using technology when it adds value and choosing other approaches when it doesn't.

An iPad is a tool, not the goal. What matters is the learning it helps make possible.

Our one-to-one program reflects our district's commitment to Learning for All. Learning for Life. By combining access to technology with intentional instruction, we aim to give every student opportunities to learn, grow, and develop skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
