4-Year-Old Kindergarten (4K)
Sites and Times
In the G-E-T School District, we have 4 year old kindergarten programming at each of our three elementary schools. While we try our best to place students in the elementary school they will attend for grades K-5 for 4K, there are times that is not possible due to transportation, size limitation or other conflicts.
- At Ettrick Elementary School, we have one morning section of 4K.
- At Galesville Elementary School, we have one morning and one afternoon section of 4K.
- At Trempealeau Elementary School, we have a minimum of one morning and one afternoon section of 4K. Our Trempealeau Elementary site is the location in which we have the ability to add additional sections if needed.
All of our 4K sessions run five days a week:
- Morning 4K runs from 8:00-10:45AM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8:00-10:35 on Wednesdays.
- Afternoon 4K runs from 12:15-3:00PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 11:50-2:25 on Wednesdays.
Students in the morning sessions of 4K ride regular bus routes to school each day, and a 4K bus route home. Students in the afternoon sessions of 4K ride a 4K bus route to school each day and regular bus routes home. Bus route information is provided to families at our August registration days, which for the 2022-23 school year will be held on August 8th and 15th.
Questions about transportation can be directed to Sandra Ziegler, Transportation Administrative Assistant.
We are so excited that your family is considering enrolling into 4-year old kindergarten at the
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District!
Starting Monday, February 7th, you can pick up enrollment materials at the G-E-T District Office. We are located at 17511 N Main Street, attached to G-E-T High School. If you are facing the high school, the entrance to the District Office is on your right, whereas the entrance to the high school is in the center of the building. We can also e-mail enrollment materials by request or send via postal mail. Please know that materials that are e-mailed will need to be printed for completion. If you would like postal mail or e-mailed materials, you may contact Karen Smith.
When you return your enrollment packet (also to the G-E-T District Office) we will need to see a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residence. We will not keep either of those items, but just need to view them upon submission. We will keep a copy of your child’s immunization record, so please plan to have a copy available (if you use Gundersen MyChart or Mayo Online Patient Services you should be able to print an immunization record without having to contact your provider). If transportation is a barrier to returning your packet, please let us know and we will arrange to collect your materials at your home.
Non-resident students are accepted into the G-E-T School District through a process called “Open Enrollment”. The Open Enrollment window for the 2022-23 school year runs from February 7th through April 29th, 2022. Families must enroll during this window on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) website. More information can be found at: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment
We look forward to your child starting 4K with us!
