Freshmen Orientation

Jessica Holder

Greetings incoming freshmen and parents!

LINK Crew, which is our high school’s mentorship program, is hosting Freshmen Orientation.  The date for this is Wednesday, August 17th, 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at GET High School.  Parents can either drop off their students, or the district is providing transportation.  The routes for transportation can be found at the bottom of this page.   Please click the Google Form HERE to fill out the transportation survey.

Lunch will be provided and charged to your account.  This opportunity will give students a feel for the daily lunch routine looks like.  Schedules will also be given out on this day so that they can find where their classes are, and locks for lockers will also be given out.  (If your child is unable to attend, they can pick their locks up on registration day.)

The students will be grouped with other freshmen, which is who they will be with for all four years of high school for advisory time.  This day will help the groups foster a sense of community and comradery with each other, as well as participate in team building activities that help create a sense of belonging.  The LINK Leaders assigned to them on orientation day will also be meeting with the freshmen groups throughout the year to check in and lead similar activities during advisory time.

I look forward to meeting everyone!
